The Proposal…….
We were on our way to Vegas for what appeared to be a random trip. We were with Emily, Steve, and their little baby Matt, we all climbed in to their SUV to go and have some fun! On the way down we talked about all kinds of things, this was my opportunity to get to know Emily and her husband. Andrew and I talked about different things that we were having to push threw at the time, come to find out, Emily understood a lot of what I was going through. Emily made a very big effort to make me feel included, she is such a sweetheart, and also Steve waited in St. George so that he wouldn’t miss us on the way there because he was working. Steve drove the whole way, we got into Vegas around 4:00 and we stopped at In and Out Burger, it was a blast to just sit back and relax and unwind after the long ride in the car with the baby. We were making a plan of what we were going to do while we were in Vegas. Emily was like “oh! I want to go and visit the shark exhibit!” I didn’t think too much of it, so we headed off to Mandalay Bay. Andrew and I walked hand in hand threw out the whole hotel, I was so content and happy as we joked and ran around! We arrived at the shark exhibit, and we were trying to decide if we could afford it or not, I was hanging around Andrew and I wouldn’t let him out of my sight! We hung out there for a little bit, and Emily had disappeared! I was trying to figure out where she was. While we were talking Emily came up to us and was like” oh! There is the cutest character drawings over there, we should get ours done!” I was hesitant, but Andrew was like “yeah! That will be awesome!” so I said “okay! Let’s do it!” We made our way over to where the artist was doing some drawings we approached her and she had me look threw her book of different ways she would draw us together. I picked out one then she had us sit down on the bench. She turned the bench so it was at an angle from the sketch pad. I tried to get up and move to the other side of the bench but she was like “oh no you need to stay there” I didn’t think much of it at the time. People walking by would stop and look at the drawing, a bigger and bigger crowd was gathering by the picture. During this time Emily and Steve were pacing around quietly whispering things to the crowed not to say anything. After about 20 minutes she was done, she said “are you ready?!” she was looking directly at Andrew. She turned the drawing around. I had an automatic response ready in my head and so when she turned it around, I was like “oh that’s so cute!” I looked at it and was like oh… Andrew is kneeing in the picture… then! He got down on his knee! Then he said “Tenia will you marry me?” ahhh!!! I freaked out! I couldn’t even contain myself! I was looking at him, and then at the ring, I was going all over the place. I had not expected it in the slightest! I was so excited, and flabbergasted! He was still kneeing there and he had to ask it again because I hadn’t been able to get anything out of my mouth by that point, after he said that I was like “Yes, Yes!!” and we kissed, and hugged. By that point I had noticed the large group of people that were accumulated by us and everyone taking pictures! There were even random ladies crying! I couldn’t believe it! We were finally engaged! I had a fiancé! It was so overwhelming; I called my parents right away! I was so excited on the phone they could hardly understand what I was saying, it was the most exciting moment of my life! Everything had been so perfect and there was so much meaning behind everything that had been done, and the preparation that it took was incredible. It was the perfect proposal just how I would have wanted it! It will be something I remember and treasure for the rest of my life.
That was so much fun. My face totally started to hurt from all the smiling. I am so glad that we got to be a part of your specail day. We love you.
